LESSONS

At WakeMK we provide lessons that cater to complete beginners all the way through to competition level instruction. Any newcomer to WakeMK will receive a safety brief from one of our instructors advising on how to stay safe during your time with us, where to swim or wait for the pick up boat if you fall and how to get around the course. You can then head on to water and try out Kneeboarding, Wakeboarding and Waterskiing.

The following lessons are ideal for anyone that has never tried Wakeboarding or Waterskiing.

DISCOVER WAKEBOARDING/WATERSKIING

£42, 2 hour lesson with all equipment included

This is the perfect first step for anyone wanting to try wakeboarding or Waterskiing for the first time. It is a 2-hour lesson starting out with a safety brief on land lasting around 10 minutes. In the safety brief, we will go through the basic concept of how to get around the course from start to finish, where to swim when you fall and how to stay safe throughout your lesson. You will then head down to the dock where everyone first has a go on the Kneeboards which is the easiest way to get around the cable and will help you get to grips with starting and cornering. Once competent on the kneeboards (2 full laps completed, this will usually happen within the first hour) you can then try Wakeboarding, Waterskiing or both. These lessons run on Saturday and Sunday mornings from the beginning of March to the end of October.

GROUP BOOKINGS

£270, 2-hour lesson with all equipment included for 10 people.

At WakeMK we can cater for groups of around 40 people every 2 hours. This is the easiest and most economical way to try Wakeboarding or Waterskiing for the first time if you have a group of around 6 or more people. The structure is the same as the Discover Lesson so will start with a safety brief on land and then the group will first try Kneeboarding before moving on to Wakeboards or Waterskiis. The instructor will be focused entirely on your group or party so you will get the most out of your time. Group Bookings can be made at any time within our opening hours both during the week and on weekends.

The following lessons are ideal for anyone that has limited experience in either cable or boat Wakeboarding or Waterskiing.

one and one lessons

£25, 1 hour private instruction, cable usage and equipment not included.

This is a private lesson that can be booked at any time within our opening hours and usually last around 1 hour. This type of course is best for anyone with some previous experience in other board sports or people that have done a small amount of Wakeboarding. The instructor’s full attention will be on you rather than a group so they can spot exactly if and where you are making mistakes and help you progress a lot quicker. However up to 3 more people can be added on to the course for £15 per person excluding cable usage and equipment.

Pro Coaching

£35, 1 hour private instruction, cable usage and equipment not included.

This is a private lesson aimed towards Wakeboarders looking to begin learning tricks and start hitting obstacles and towards more advanced Wakeboarders looking to learn harder tricks such as inverts and even plan competition runs. The instructor will not only use tools such as video analysis but will also double-up with the Wakeboarder (two people on the same carrier going along besides each other) to help demonstrate up close how a certain trick is done.

Junior sessions

£24, 2 hour lesson with all equipment included.

This lesson is very similar to the Discover lessons in terms of the structure as it’s a 2 hour session starting with an on land safety brief and going from Kneeboarding to Wakeboarding or Waterskiing. However, it is tailored to juniors in terms of the safety brief being slightly longer and more interactive as well as the cable itself running at a slightly slower speed to make it easier and a little less intimidating. These lessons are also extremely popular as they run outside of public opening hours and throughout school holidays and half terms starting from the Easter Holidays and finishing at the end of the Summer Holidays so it’s the perfect opportunity for juniors to try it out with others of a similar age.
